Q:  I noticed fluid dripping from the brake
pressure fail switch where the electrical
connector meets the switch. I ordered a new switch,
but it did not come with a new connector. Do
you think replacing the switch will stop the
leak or will I need to do something with the
connector?  Is the switch sealed or does the
connector seal the switch? My B is a 74 1/2 without the servo and the switch
mounts at the union.

A: The brake fluid can’t get to the switch unless the
inner proportioning valve has moved over to compensate
for a fault in either the front or rear brakes. The
switch is sealed & will stop the leak but I would look
for other problems. I would use Teflon tape on the
threads for extra insurance.

Q:   I am almost done getting my Roadster ready to get
painted. I would like to stick with the original color on my car, which is
Old English White.  The Moss catalog lists 3 paint crossover matches to
modern paints.  However, our friend (who painted 3 of
our previous classic cars much to our satisfaction,
and inexpensively) uses only PPG. How would I find
out whether one of PPGs many Old English White colors
(for various makes, but no MG listed) is a close match to the
original?

A:  The Moss catalog does list the colors and PPG was
originally Ditzler. Simply use the # in the Moss
catalog specified as Ditz and it will correspond to
the current PPG #.
